I am pleased to announce that as of noon February 8th, 2009 registration will be open for local teams for the 4th edition of the Over The Rainbow Bonspiel (OTRB) to be held at the Ottawa Curling Club, March 27-29, 2009. Out-of-town registration starts at noon, January 16th. Fourteen spots will be held for local teams.
This year promises to be another great year of fun and exciting curling! Dinner Saturday night and breakfast Saturday will be covered with your entry fee of $340. All teams will be guaranteed 4 games; three pool games and one event game. Baring delay, all finals will start at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Please note that currently our bonspiel schedule has games starting on Friday at 10:30 a.m., Saturday and Sunday at 8 a.m. Once registrations are closed, your schedule will be posted on the website hopefully early enough so that your teams may make appropriate arrangements.
To register as of noon, February 8th, we ask that you complete the online registration at http://www.rainbowrockers.com and send a cheque, payable to the Rainbow Rockers, to the following address:

You may also hand deliver your cheque to Steve at curling. Please note that no registration will be considered complete until a cheque has been received. With that in mind, your payment must be received by Steve (and only Steve) no later than 7:30 p.m. February 28th (an upcoming Saturday of curling and a Euchre Night) or your reserved place will be given to the first team on the waiting list who has paid, should we have more than 12 teams register. Once your cheque has been received, we will update the website accordingly. Please remember to put your team name on your cheque.
We also request that you send us a picture of your team. This will be included in our program so think of something creative and showcase either yourselves and/or Ottawa! Once your registration has been confirmed, please send us an email at [email protected] with your picture attached.
This year’s host hotel is again the Victoria Suites Best Western Hotel located on O’Connor Street just two blocks from the Club. This is a great opportunity to party the Saturday night away and avoid drinking and driving by getting a hotel room well before the event!
