We’re keeping a close eye on the inclement weather forecasted for this Sunday and are actively monitoring updates from Environment Canada and the City of Ottawa regarding travel advisories.
As of now, Sunday’s games are scheduled to proceed as planned. We will make a final go/no-go decision by 11:00 AM on Sunday morning, based on the latest guidance from both Environment Canada and the City of Ottawa as well as alignment with the Ottawa Curling Club.
Regardless of the league’s decision, we encourage all members to make their own judgment call about travel safety. We recommend that teams connect ahead of time to discuss their plans and decide how they’ll proceed if games go ahead and conditions are mild.
If the league proceeds with games:
- Teams are expected to play.
- If a team chooses not to play or cannot field a full lineup, normal league rules will apply for game play and scoring.
If the league cancels all games due to weather advisories:
- We’ll make every effort to coordinate with the Ottawa Curling Club, but we can’t guarantee we’ll be able to reschedule.
- If rescheduling isn’t possible, teams scheduled to play will be awarded their game points in one of two manners (tie score or average score within the division), which are still being flushed out.
Thanks for your understanding and flexibility as we navigate the forecast. We’ll be in touch Sunday morning with the final update.
Stay safe and warm out there!
