Expansion Vote Results and Call for Nominations

Expansion Vote Results

Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate in our league expansion vote. We had 123 members vote, and we’re grateful for all the thoughtful feedback shared throughout this process.

With 91 members voting yes, the proposal passed with 74% support. Based on this result, the league will move forward with expansion for next season.

The Executive will continue to share updates as we develop and implement the expansion plan, including timelines, logistics, and what members can expect heading into next year.

Thank you again for your engagement, your questions, and your commitment to shaping the future of our league.

Call for Nominations Now Open

As we move to the end of the season, it’s time to open nominations for next year’s executive. Several positions are available, and we would love to welcome a broader range of voices from across all divisions. We especially encourage women, gender-diverse, and BIPOC members to consider putting their names forward. Diverse lived and living experience strengthens our league and helps our board better reflect the community we serve.

Every board role is a one‑year term. That means no one is locked into a position long‑term, and no one is running against someone else’s tenure. Each year is a fresh opportunity for members to step in, try something new, and help shape the direction of the league.

Why join the board:

  • Influence how the league grows and operates
  • Lead initiatives that expand access and reduce barriers
  • Strengthen queer sport and build community
  • Develop leadership skills in a supportive environment

How nominations work:

  • Only current, full‑time members of the league may make nominations or be nominated.
  • Members may nominate themselves.
  • A member must be nominated by two or more current full‑time members to be considered (including themselves).
  • Nominees will be contacted by the election coordinator (Robbie Tremblay) by email to confirm they accept the nomination.
  • To be accepted as a candidate, nominees must confirm they are willing to stand for election and fulfill the duties for the entire upcoming season.

How to submit a nomination: Nominations can be submitted by emailing [email protected]. Please include:

  • Your name
  • The name of the person you are nominating
  • The position(s) you are nominating them for

All board positions are listed on our website. Elections will be held if needed, with the following timeline:

  • March 9-20: Nomination period
  • March 20: Notice of election
  • March 20-28: Voting period
  • March 29: Announcement of acclamations
