Sunday’s Winning 50/50 Number (Oct 26)

The winning ticket from the first 50-50 draw on Sunday, October 26th is 64430. The winner should bring their ticket to next Sunday’s funspiel or to the regular game the following week.

Round Two Begins November 30th

The last game for round one will take place on SATURDAY, November 29th. All regular round games must be completed and scores entered by 7:00 PM. Be sure to check the website on Sunday morning to find out what time your team plays on Sunday (or stick around for euchre on Saturday evening!!). A tentative schedule (updated, Wednesday Nov 26) has been announced for teams whose next division has already been determined. Some positions are still to be determined based on the results of next Saturday’s games. A full schedule will be released next Sunday – please check back then for the final schedule.

Playdown Registration for the Canadian Gay National Curling Championship

This year’s national championships will be held in Montreal on Easter weekend (April 10-12, 2009). Ottawa will be holding playdowns to determine the two qualifying teams to this event on Saturday, January 24, 2009. Only 8 teams will be eligible to compete. Register on-line at www.rainbowrockers.com/nationals beginning on Sunday, January 4th at 12:00 PM. Register early to avoid disappointment. There is a $100 fee per team which is due on January 11th.

Vancouver’s 26th Pac Rim Bonspiel Runs January 30 to February 1, 2009

The 26th Anniversary edition of the Pac Rim Bonspiel is scheduled to run January 30 to February 1, 2009! It is a challenge to follow-up from such a tremendous Silver Anniversary Event in 2008, but the Planning Committee is hard at work to bring you another fabulous event.
The Pac Rim Bonspiel will be limited to a total of 32 teams. Registration is open on December 1, 2008 at 12 noon. Make sure you register early to secure a spot. Registration forms can be found on the website at www.prcl.ca. Sign up as a Team or individual.
Teams are guaranteed a 3 game minimum, cash prizes, Old Farts Cup competition, Awards Banquet, Survivor Party, and more! Watch for regular updates on the website.

The OVCA Mixed Bonspiel

The OVCA Mixed Bonspiel is being held January 15-18, 2009 at area clubs.
There are three divisions: Open, Senior, and Recreational (for teams with at least 2 players who are new to bonspiels). The OVCA has asked for a couple of teams to from our club enter this fun event. Complete Schedule For Round 2 Has Been Posted

The schedule for Round 2 has been posted by the drawmaster.
Please note that there is no curling on December 14th or on December 28th, and resumes on Saturday, January 3rd.
The Christmas Funspiel and banquet will be held on December 21st.

Ottawa Participation in Toronto’s Rotators Bonspiel

Congratulations to Teams Gallant, Mantha, Taylor, Nixon and MacDonald who all participated in the Rotators Bonspiel in Toronto November 22-23, 2008.
A special note goes to Team Gallant who were B Event Finalists, Team Mantha who were D Event Champions, and Team Taylor who were D Event Finalists.
