February 18 Ice Conditions

As some of you may be aware, last Sunday, ice conditions for the 5 PM draw were not adequate for curling.  Given the unplayable conditions teams wisely made the decision to abandon the playing surface.  As a result, all 5:00 PM games played on Sunday, February 18 will be declared “no contest.”  The Ottawa Curling Club apologizes for the mistake and has sent the following explanation:

Dear Colin Rainbow Rockers Board and Members

We would like to extend our apologies for the unsatisfactory ice conditions which occurred last Sunday 18 February 2018. This resulted as part of our scheduled maintenance. We did not fully take into account the warmer exterior temperature, which contributed to the ice melting much faster than normal. We have made note of this incident and we will use this information when planning our future maintenance. We, with your input are working on rescheduling your lost draw.

Once again, our apologies and many thanks for your ongoing support to the Ottawa Curling Club and in the future we will continue to do our best to provide you with the curling surface that you have become accustomed to.

The Ice Team

As noted above, the Rainbow Rockers have secured a number of ice times from the Ottawa Curling Club.  Our membership coordinator, John,  will be in touch with the impacted teams to reschedule.

Thank you for your understanding.  Enjoy the remainder of the 2017-18 season.
