Last Call – Pizza Spiel
The 2013-14 season kicks off this Sunday with the annual pizza practice-spiel. Limited space is still available for both the 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM draws. Pizza served at 7:00 PM. Free for members and registered spares. E-mail [email protected] to reserve by Friday, October 4.
First Round Schedule Posted
Regular games commence Sunday, October 20. The schedule can be found under the “Upcoming Games” section of www.rainbowrockers.com. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the website to stay informed of league rules, etiquette, standings, special events and more.
Strategy Clinic – Saturday, October 26
The Rainbow Rockers will be hosting a strategy clinic at the Ottawa Curling Club on Saturday, October 26 from 1:00 – 5:00 PM.
The entire session will be offered off-ice. Topics of discussion will include basic strategy (i.e.) tactics vs.strategy, what to do with or without last rock, “playing the score board”, when to take chances or when not to, when to guard and when to come into the rings, etc. This course is offered to anyone interested in learning more about basic, and slightly more developed, strategy. Newer skips, as well as all thirds are encouraged to take part. Cost: $10 per person
