Another season of Rainbow Rockers curling is coming to an end. Remaining draws take place Sunday, April 7 along with a special Tuesday evening draw on April 9 at 6:30 PM.
End of Season Curling & Banquet – Sunday, April 14, 2013
Wind up the season with one last game of curling followed by a banquet dinner on Sunday, April 14, 2013. Choose to curl at either 3:00 PM or 5:00 PM and then enjoy a delicious meal of chicken and wedges along with a sundae bar for dessert. Players register as individuals and will be placed on a team. Following the banquet, champions will also be crowned in each of the divisions and ALL teams take home cash! Lots of bonus prizes and extras too!
The cost for the event is $15 for full-time members and $30 for spares and guests. Register after your game on April 7 or April 9. If you are not scheduled to play those days, you may also register by sending an e-mail to [email protected] The deadline to register is April 9. Please indicate if you would prefer a vegetarian meal or have any food allergies.
Registration for the 2013 – 2014 Season
Full-time members have the opportunity to register and pay the $50 deposit for the 2013-2014 season at the closing banquet.Paper forms must be completed and a $50 deposit is required to hold your spot for next year. Members can register as a team or as individuals. If you do not have a full team but wish to curl with one or two other people, then please specify this on your registration.If you cannot attend the banquet or do not wish to pay your $50 deposit on Sunday, you must register on-line and send the $50 deposit to Steve Horwood (cheques made payable to RAINBOW ROCKERS CURLING LEAGUE) no later than May 15. Details will be available on the website. All members will be required to complete a paper registration form prior to the start of the 2013-2014 season. After May 15, registration will be open to spares and new members. Registration forms for new full-time members will accepted before this date, but will be considered tentative and subject to space availability.
Bluenose Bonspiel and Canadian Gay Curling Championships
Beginning April 25, Halifax plays host the Canadian Gay Curling Championships. This annual event features the best GLBT teams from across the country compete for national title. Teams Taylor and Mantha will represent Ottawa and the Rainbow Rockers in Halifax. Other Rainbow Rockers members will be competing in the Bluenose Bonspiel, held concurrently with the national championships.
